In 2013 Patrick Poulin was the North American Evangelist for Getty Images. His job involved speaking to the health of the API without any actual insight into that. There was no platform in the market that allowed him, a non-developer, to write a comprehensive test without having to write code. That is when a lightbulb went off.
This must be why APIs are not tested!
Developers do not test websites and apps, so why are we asking them to test the APIs that power those? It is because a tool like Selenium did not exist for APIs. There was a need for a tool to empower QAs, and make the lives of developers easier. So he and his cofounder went about building that in 2014.
In January 2015 he joined the Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator in NYC, and in May had a successful demo day. In July 2016 he joined the Grand Central Tech accelerator and since then he has been living the life of a founder.
